No certificate, no visa
Ghana will not issue a visa or allow entry without an International Certificate of Vaccination.

Tourist visa
Tourist visa, four things to prepare.

Valid photo ID
Driver's license or state ID with an address matching your application. If there is a mismatch, bring a recent major utility bill.
Yellow fever certificate
International Certificate of Vaccination proving yellow fever vaccination. Ghana will not issue a visa or allow entry without it.
Flight itinerary
Include a copy if you have a confirmed booking. Not required if travel dates are still being finalized.
Traveling with a minor under 18?
Bring the child's birth certificate, copies of both parents' passports or driver's licenses, and a notarized parental consent letter if one parent is not traveling.
Business visa
Business visa, four things to prepare.
No separate business letter or invitation letter is required.
What the business visa needs
- Same documents as tourist. Ghana does not require a separate business letter or invitation letter for the business visa. The same document set applies to both categories.
- Valid photo ID. Driver's license or state ID with a matching address, or a recent major utility bill if the address differs.
- Yellow fever certificate. International Certificate of Vaccination proving yellow fever vaccination. Required for both the visa and entry into Ghana.
- Applying by mail? Include a completed Service Order Form so Sameday Passport & Visa can contact you quickly if anything needs clarifying before submission.
Where Ghana applications go wrong
- Lowercase entries. Both copies of the application must be completed in capital letters only — lowercase is a common reason for delay or rejection.
- One copy instead of two. Two signed copies must be submitted, not just one.
- Missing yellow card. Without the International Certificate of Vaccination the consulate will not issue the visa.
- Reviewed at the counter. Both copies and the certificate are checked before anything is submitted.
