Tourist visa
Tourist visa, four things to prepare.

Multiple entry, valid 3 months
Both processing speeds produce the same visa. Standard at $60 takes 15 days. Rush at $90 takes 8 to 10 days. Call (310) 402-1619 with your travel date to confirm which fits.
Flight itinerary
Include a copy if you have a confirmed booking. Not required if your travel dates are still being finalized.
Traveling with a minor under 18?
Bring the child's birth certificate, copies of both parents' passports or driver's licenses, and a notarized parental consent letter if one parent is not traveling.
Applying by mail?
Include a completed Service Order Form so Sameday Passport & Visa can reach you quickly if anything needs clarifying before submission.
Business visa
Business visa, what changes.
The business letter is the one document the tourist visa does not need. The visa itself is identical.
What the business visa needs
- Business letter from your company. On company letterhead with an original signature or company stamp. Must name a reference firm in Rwanda, explain the nature of business and length of stay, include a financial guarantee, and state the requested visa validity and entries.
- Multiple entry, valid 3 months. Standard 15-day processing costs $60. Rush 8 to 10-day processing costs $90. Both produce the same multiple-entry 3-month visa.
- Flight itinerary. Include a copy if you have a confirmed booking. Not required if travel dates are still being finalized.
- Applying by mail? Include a completed Service Order Form so Sameday Passport & Visa can contact you quickly if anything needs clarifying before submission.
Where Rwanda applications go wrong
- A letter without a stamp or original signature. The consulate expects one or the other on company letterhead.
- Paying rush at the consulate but not needing it. Both speeds produce the same visa — only the turnaround differs.
- Assuming Rwanda covers the region. The Rwanda visa covers Rwanda only. The East Africa Tourist Visa covers Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
- Checked at the counter. Application, photo and letter are reviewed together before anything is filed.
