To qualify, your most recent U.S. passport
- Is undamaged and can be submitted with your application.
- Was issued when you were age 16 or older.
- Was issued within the last 15 years.
- Was issued in your current name, or you can legally document the change.
If you have a previously issued passport card, please include it.
Do not meet all four? You will need a new or first time passport instead. Passport gone or damaged? See lost, stolen or damaged.
What happens next
Sameday Passport & Visa reviews your DS-82 and every document before anything is submitted, then files through the fastest channel available for your travel date.
You must submit your current undamaged passport. The expired passport will be returned to you along with the new passport.
Government fees for a renewal are $213.36, payable to “U.S. Department of State” by personal check with a printed address, or cash. Credit cards cannot be accepted for government fees.

How to apply
Seven things to prepare.
Complete the online application
Fill in the DS-82 online, then bring it in unsigned. Do not sign the application until instructed to do so.
You must provide a Social Security number, if you have been issued one, in accordance with 22 U.S.C. 2714a and 22 C.F.R 51.60(f).
Proof of citizenship
You must present one of the following identification documents.
- Fully-valid U.S. driver's license
- Fully-valid, undamaged U.S. passport (may be expired)
- Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship
- Government employee ID (city, county, state or federal)
- U.S. military ID or military dependent ID
- Valid foreign passport
- Matricula Consular (Mexican Consular Identification, commonly used by the parent of a U.S. citizen child applicant)

Current U.S. passport
You must submit your current undamaged passport. The expired passport will be returned to you along with the new passport.
Flight itinerary
If you have a copy of your flight itinerary or ticket, please include it. If you do not have a travel itinerary or a ticket, it's okay.
Passport photos
Passport photo services are available at the Sameday Passport & Visa office. Photos must be 2″ x 2″ on a white background, and must not be older than one month.
Changed your name due to marriage or divorce?
In the event that you changed your name due to marriage or divorce, you will need to bring in a certified copy of your marriage certificate or a court decree that shows your name change.
Applying by mail? Two letters of authorization and a service order form
If you are processing your passport application with Sameday Passport & Visa by mail, please fill out two Letters of Authorization and the service order form, and send them along with the documents.

Government expedite fees must be paid by cashier's check or money order, payable to “US Department of State”.
